Location of Uchikawa area
”Uchikawa” is a river that flows through the Shinminato area of Imizu City, Toyama Prefecture, Japan.
This area has a port town feel to it. This area is nostalgic.
Charms of this area
This area has a variety of attractions.
・Moored fishing boat.
・Over 10 unique bridges across the river.
・Old houses lined up along the river.
・The smell of the sea and the cries of black kites.
・The sound of fishing boats rubbing against the riverbank.
You can feel the relaxed time. It’s also great for a walk.
In recent years, it has also been gaining attention as a filming location for movies and TV dramas.
Recent efforts
In recent years, various events have been held to further enliven the area.
For example, acoustic live and candlelight events. And Bamboo art and more.

This area is expected to continue to develop further in the future.
However, there seem to be many problems facing the region, such as a declining birthrate and an aging population.
I also work every day as a member of the community.
