This time I will introduce my work.

My job is “Chiiki Okoshi Kyouryokutai”.

What is “Chiiki Okoshi Kyouryokutai”

This is an initiative of Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications.

This initiative aims to encourage people to move from urban areas to disadvantaged areas such as depopulated regions and to settle in those areas by engaging in “community collaboration activities” such as supporting regional revitalization through the development, sale, and promotion of regional brands and local products, employment in the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries industries, and support for local residents.

Team members are commissioned by each local government and their term of office is generally one to three years.

My profile

I started my current job in March 2024.

The area I am responsible for is the Shinminato Uchikawa area of ​​Imizu City, Toyama Prefecture.

My mission is mainly to create and promote the appeal of the region through event promotion.

I moved from the Kansai region to take this job.

When I was in Kansai, I was a band member.

I signed a contract with a record company, wrote songs, sold recordings, and went on live tours.

Using those experiences, I am now organizing music events to revitalize the local community.

After leaving this job

As I mentioned earlier, the term of this position will be approximately three years.

So, Chiiki Okoshi Kyouryokutai members across Japan are wondering what to do when their term ends.

I am one of them.

When I retire, I want to open a burger shop in this area.

However, there are concerns about costs and local issues.

I will do my best in the remaining two years of my term while considering my future career.
